I am proud to be an Indian. Whenever someone asks me, “Who are you?”. I proudly say that i am an Indian. But no one ever is satisfied with this reply. I wonder why? They then, frame it in another words, “What’s your caste?”. I say, humanity. The people are staggered by such answers. I further ponder, “WHY?”. I might neither belong to a Hindu confraternity nor to an upper caste clique, but i live in India and have an affection for my country. Is this not enough? Can’t i address myself as its populace veraciously. Not littering the roads, using resources judiciously, aiding the penurious hombre is my way of contributing towards the nation. When the flag is hosted at the Red fort and the anthem plays at the background, i proudly stand erect, singing the song aloud for the honor of the land and hence conveying in my own way that being an Indian is what i am proud of.
